DESCRIPTION Dynaudio Acoustics BM9S 200 watts at 4 ohms. 10-inch woofer The BM9S from Dynaudio Acoustics is a high-quality active front-firing subwoofer ideal for use with BM series satellite monitors. The BM9S has a large 10" cone that's powered by a 200W amplifier to provide a frequency response of 29Hz to 250Hz. The unit has stereo XLR inputs and outputs as well as LFE/Slave inputs and outputs to connect to satellite speakers and other subwoofers. Back panel controls include a main volume knob, a Sub low-pass control, a Sat high-pass control, and a phase selector switch. The BM9S has isolation feet to reduce rumble and reflections. The closed cabinet helps to increase the precision of the low frequencies for added realism. For a surprising punch in a relatively small enclosure, this subwoofer is a great option. The BM9S subwoofer is intended to operate with the BM series monitors, more specifically, the BM5A monitor. It is extremely well-suited for that extra punch to the bottom in setups where space is limited. The BM9S delivers a clear, crispy and surprisingly powerful punch when you take its almost diminutive size into account. The BM9S will complement stereo and multichannel monitoring equally well and when daisy-chaining of subwoofers is needed, it sports a low level LFE input/output. For significant control and enhancement of the general performance, the BM9S is a closed cabinet type. This creates an internal pressure by which the woofer gains a considerable amount of precision when it comes to the reproduction of low frequent signals. This precision is easily audible and it augments the feeling of reality that the listener experiences. The satellite filters that this sub sports, provides high-pass filtering of the monitor source signal allowing 60Hz or 80Hz corner frequencies. This is a huge advantage for the monitor performance, as the satellites do not need to deal with power consuming lower frequencies.
