Description
You are bidding on a mint condition Buffet Crampon E11 A Clarinet (Key of A, serial No. 921912). I purchased it new in December of 2005. The instrument only has at most 10 hours of playing on it, and is practically new! I purchased it for a performance of the Mozart clarinet quintet in Weill Hall at Carnegie in April 2006 (and a few rehearsals leading to it), and it has essentially sat in the case for the last 29 months! It has been stored clean, dry and polished in my trekking case. The instrument is in near perfect condition, and is nearly just as it was the day I bought it. All the pads are still mint with the exception of the C# water key which is lightly tinted but still in excellent shape. The keys and mechanism all function perfectly and have an excellent feel to them. I had the springs regulated when I bought the clarinet. The only cosmetic issues on the entire instrument are a few tarnish spots on the keys and plating (easily removable) from lack of use, and two very small very shallow scratches on the back of the lower joint, both of which were there when I bought the instrument. Both issues are only visible upon close inspection, and in no way effect the instruments excellent quality. Other than those and a bit of dust, the instrument is in perfect condition and plays beautifully. The clarinet comes with the case it came in which is a hard plastic red plush lined single clarinet case for an A clarinet with the Buffet logo on the outside. A single case for an A clarinet is very uncommon, and this Buffet model (produced solely for this model clarinet) is very functional, protective and aesthetically pleasing! The aftermarket barrel in the photos does not come with the instrument, however the original stock barrel will be included for the buyer. I am also including the stock Buffet mouthpiece, ligature and cap. I am selling this clarinet because I will be playing quite a bit of A clarinet repertoire, and am looking to upgrade. This clarinet would be perfect for an aspiring high school or college student, or anyone looking for a high quality instrument on a budget. It lists new at $2,605.00! This instrument is easily worth 95%+ of its original value, and is truly a wonderful and beautiful instrument well worth the price! I have included the specs from Buffet at the bottom. I am located in Ithaca, New York (14850), and any interested buyers in the area are welcome to come inspect and play test the instrument! Buffet Specs Body Wood Body Construction Grenadilla wood Bore 14.65 mm / Poly-cylindrical Case Moulded Plush lined plastic Keys Silver Plated Mouthpiece / Ligature Buffet Pads Double skin Tone Holes Undercut An excellent instrument with many of the features of professional model Buffet clarinets, the E11 comes standard with a high quality grenadilla wood body, silver plated keys and an adjustable thumb rest. Recommended by music teachers because of their easy response and remarkable accuracy, these clarinets help the musician to develop their musical talent. Our clarinets are made from grenadilla wood. This special wood is found in the forests of Mozambique and Tanzania. Grenadilla wood is known for its resonance and stability, making it an ideal material for musical instruments. Whatever his or her level, the musician will appreciate the feel and the acoustic qualities of Buffet Crampon clarinets. The bore (internal diameter) has been specially designed to increase easy response, flexibility and even performance in all registers. Serious bidders only. This clarinet is being sold as is, and unless I have provided grossly inaccurate information, I can't accept a return. Paypal is the only form of payment I can accept (contact me if this is impossible for you), and I am requesting payment in full within five days of the close of the auction. I have tried to get good views of the entire instrument with the photos provided. I can provide additional photos on request (please specify what you would like to see)! This instrument is for sale through other locations, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you require international shipping, additional shipping charges will apply. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions! Good luck, and happy bidding!
