This is basically a "Top Hat and Cane" model with less engraving.   Some players prefer these to the original THC horns. It has a big juicy tone, rich with harmonics and overtones… just like a vintage Buescher should. Built in 1961, this classic American sax is numbered 371xxx and is a "Pre-Selmer" built horn.  (Later Super 400s built by Selmer were changed considerably).  This horn has the opposing bell keys and underslung neck, amber rollers, all like the TH&C.  It has the same huge 6 1/2" Bell with the Silver Tone Ring, the same as the TH&C.  The 400s were marketed as a "Jazz/Rock" horn with a huge sound due to the largest bell on the market and the Resonator pads.  The pads on this particular tenor sax are mostly new resonator pads, but not the original snap-on. The person I got the horn from told me, "the resonators do go thru the pads and snap-on instead of hot resin". I have not confirmed that. This does have the original screw-in norton springs.  I just picked this horn up from the shop where it has been adjusted and leak tested.  It has been played a lot over the years, but not abused and the lacquer looks much better than most of these you will find.  It has aged to a nice dark honey patina.  There is some plating wear on the plam keys, pinky keys etc.  The body is in great shape with no major dings or dents and very few scratches, mostly on the bow.  The neck brace was lost at some point but there is no neck "pull-down".  A great value at my Buy It Now price of $1000!!  A new student horn will cost $1500.  Go Vintage!!Auction includes a nice hard case.
