Description
NEW LOW PRICE, MUST SELL ASAP An absolute marvelous guitar to own and play. Andy built this guitar with Cedar top/ Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Snakewood Bindings, Flamed Maple interior sides for an added quality of sound. If you are unfamiliar with Andres guitars just know that top players Aniello Desiderio, Goran Krivokapic, Graham Anthony Devine, Gerardo Nunez all play and record with these amazing instruments. Graham Devines "Manha de Carnival" album was recorded with his earlier Marvi, and he has recently been touring with his new cedar/brasilian exactly like this one. Goran Krivokapic uses his Marvi on both his "Guitar Recital" naxos label as well as his brand new release of "Sor 6-9". Listen to any of these three albums or check out these youtube videos for a close sound description of what they sound like and remember, it sounds far better when you play it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlo_JplwYGk search youtube for Goran Krivokapic and you will see several videos of him playing a Marvi guitar. There are so many great guitars out there that i've played and owned, over 30 guitars myself. This guitar and maybe Bernabe and Delarue have been the most impressive guitars i've ever owned and played. I sold the Bernabe (Imperial) and Delarue as great as they were because theres something to the sound quality and tone of Marvi's guitar that I've never heard before. You should be able to hear it on the previously mentioned albums or when you're playing these guitars but its truly a kind of its own. I would be a lot more hesitant to sell if I didnt need the money, but the $10,000+ price tag for these is simply too much for me. I MAY be able to purchase one his used flamencos spruce/cypress since i've been playing more flamenco these days and my new guitar (a lot less money) is about to be built. I need the money to pay for it and won't be able to keep it. Its absolutely one of the best guitars on the market today. Sounding probably more like a Bernabe imperial, but having more power than a Ruck or Bernabe. Almost equal in volume than a lattice but far more tone, and superior at that. Each note is incredibly even with the others. None that stand out or are weaker. The low E isn't boomy but has its own deepness with great power, sounds even deeper in Low D which guitars don't often do both of. The trebles are somewhat bouncy with a quick response and ring out like a bells been hit creating a very nice "Bong" sound. It does this very well in the upper register. Strumming is exceptional where you can hear its separation. This guitar is only a few months away from celebrating its first birthday when it was built in late last year. Its been played usually less than a half hour a day, some days not at all...as much as I can. Other days i'll play on my flamenco guitar. It has the usual playing wear, few tiny nicks and scratches on the french polish, nothing major. The back has some worn areas of the polish as well. No cracks or dents...etc. Always kept in case in humid controlled room, never gigged or traveled with. 650 scale, 52 nut. Very slim and comfortable neck (Marvi is a player himself) Elevated fretboard, 20th fret. I'll sell it with my HIMA Carbon fiber case at the buy it now Price, Its a very light case (about 7 lbs) and very strong. Much stronger than my BAM Case but not as sturdy/heavy as my Karura. A very nice in between. Please email for any questions about the guitar.
