Description Hello, Submitted for your approval, one Ultra Rare 1968 Fender Stratocaster from the Jimi Hendrix era refinished in Lake Placid Blue with matching painted headstock! The photos tell most of the story on this one. I am offering this at $2000 less than LAST YEARS George Gruhn appraisal at $12,000. This is included for the new owner. This is a special guitar as these typically went out for special orders or NAMM shows. Even Gruhn notes how super rare this guitar is. You are welcome to pick up this guitar locally - though it can be shipped internationally anywhere and will be done so in correct shipping carton inside a black tolex orange lined Fender case (pictured). This guitar can only go up in price. Older, professional refinish shows original Lake Placid Blue in cavities - its more valuable if the original Fender finish can be seen on the guitar. If this were original, it would be upwards of $40,000 - Guitar Center Hollywood has a Blackie '65 Strat for over $60,000 - that's right a CBS strat. This is a one-of-a-kind refin at a reasonable number, with appraisal. Original tuners, bridge, pickups are staggered pole grey-bottoms. Pickguard, while looking older is not pearloid backed and may be newer. Headstock is a respray to repair a string retainer installation - you may not notice, though we have to ethically disclose.
