Here are some words written about the amplifier a few years ago. "Known as a wonderful-sounding tube monoblock amplifier. RCA’s renowned Photophone Sound System, this type MI-9358-A rack mount amplifier was used for high quality reproduction in movie theaters. Conservatively rated to produce 30 watts from four 1622 (6L6 type) output tubes. The 1622 tubes can be replaced with 5881s and the resultant sound is superb! The complete tube complement is (4) 5881, (2) 1620, and (2) 5U4G. The build quality of these amplifiers is extraordinary, utilizing quality components including UTC output transformers. They feature barrier strip outputs taps for 7.5, 15, 250 and 500 ohm installations. Also included is a switch selectable tube test meter for instant tube performance verification. The unique flip front design allows for easy servicing in the rack." The rack itself is a monumental home adaptable piece.
