Description
This is a 1938 Swansons Tonette in military green color. It measures approx. 7" long and is in excellent condition showing very little evidence of use and I see no teeth marks on the mouth piece. It includes the original instruction sheet which is dated 1938 and of interest it reads "The Tonette is mate of Tenite, a new plastic material which is practically unbreakable and almost indestructible, excepting by heat or alcohol". It includes directions on how to play the tonette and includes the music for Good Night Ladies and Old Black Joe. The instructions are in rough condition, yellowed consistent with age, and with folds from having been wrapped around the Tonette for many years. Where the instructions were folded there are minor rips consistent with being folded for many years. Patent # 112623 is on the back and it was manufactured by The Tonette Co. 30 East Adams St. Chicago IL. There is No box or case with this Tonette.
